how sump pumps work
Sump pump systems capture rain/storm water under your home through the underground drain-tile system; where the water travels to the pit for discharge. Once the water reaches a certain level, it kicks on the sump pump for discharge to the outside. Many systems also have an outside discharge line that leaves the home and drops back underground outside and discharges to a storm basin or desolate area away from your home.
